1949 Mercury
Lead sled · Chopped 4" · Lake pipes · Black over burgundy · Lowrider suspension
The quintessential lead sled, this 1949 Mercury Eight has been tastefully customized in the traditional California style. The roofline is cleanly chopped 4 inches. Fitted with a 255 flat-head V8 with dual Stromberg 97s, lake pipes, and a French'd grille. The burgundy pearl paint shimmers under any light. Full custom interior in matching burgundy and ivory with pleated upholstery and a Monarch steering wheel. Hydraulic suspension provides that silky low ride. One of the cleanest traditional kustoms you will find.
Hydraulic system is all functional. Chopping was performed professionally with no structural compromise. Flat-head was rebuilt approximately 15,000 miles ago. Windshield is a slightly modern safety glass replacement — correct for driver use.
